The Residences at Equality Park is culturally significant as one of the nation’s first affordable, supportive housing developments specifically designed for LGBTQ+ seniors, located adjacent to The Pride Center at Equality Park in Wilton Manors. Developed in partnership with Carrfour Supportive Housing, this 48-unit complex not only addresses the critical need for safe, affirming housing for older LGBTQ+ adults—many of whom have faced lifelong discrimination in housing and healthcare—but also fosters an interwoven sense of community by offering direct access to The Pride Center’s social, health, and cultural programs. By combining stable housing with wraparound services, the Residences at Equality Park represents a living model of inclusivity, dignity, and cultural preservation for a generation that fought for the very rights and visibility the community now enjoys.
